Sandy waves are tumbling over
Trapping sunshine as they foam

Mariners, some far, some closer
In their wooden fish-boats roam.
Calmly reaching up-above them
High towards the cloud-wreathed sky
A castle-flower on a stone-stem
Ever pensive and alone.
Lucid voices brightly soaring
Startling sea-gulls in their flight
Memories the harbour/s storing
Of times gone by, days dark and light.
Unaltered is the stony haven
Now standing like it stood before
Touching as though the hems of Heaven, pointing as though to Heaven/s door.

(St Michael/s Mount)
